On Tuesday, Variety reported that Travis Scott had a phone conversation with Colin Kaepernick about his decision to perform at this year’s Super Bowl halftime show.
Scott is performing with Maroon 5 but announced that he would only do so if he and the NFL donated $500,000 to the non-profit organization, Dream Corps.

In an updated article, Variety stated that the two had at least one phone conversation about the halftime show. “While the two did not necessarily agree, they emerged from the conversation with mutual respect and understanding,” a source close to Scott told the outlet.
However, it seems like this phone conversation might have never happened, according to Kaepernick’s girlfriend, Nessa Diab. The radio and television host took to Twitter on Monday and Wednesday to reveal that it was a lie.
Diab took a screenshot of the definition for the word, “sell out.” She captioned the post, “If you’re with them, then you are definitely not with us.”
