Travis Scott Never Called Colin Kaepernick About Super Bowl Halftime

Travis Scott

On Tuesday, Variety reported that Travis Scott had a phone conversation with Colin Kaepernick about his decision to perform at this year’s Super Bowl halftime show.

Scott is performing with Maroon 5 but announced that he would only do so if he and the NFL donated $500,000 to the non-profit organization, Dream Corps.

In an updated article, Variety stated that the two had at least one phone conversation about the halftime show. “While the two did not necessarily agree, they emerged from the conversation with mutual respect and understanding,” a source close to Scott told the outlet.

However, it seems like this phone conversation might have never happened, according to Kaepernick’s girlfriend, Nessa Diab. The radio and television host took to Twitter on Monday and Wednesday to reveal that it was a lie.

Diab took a screenshot of the definition for the word, “sell out.” She captioned the post, “If you’re with them, then you are definitely not with us.”

“Kap did not approve this bulls—! Get the f— outta here….,” Hot 97’s Ebro Darden tweeted in response to Variety’s article. Diab replied, “FACTS @EBRO!!! THEY NEED TO STOP LYING.”

“There is NO mutual respect and there is NO understanding for anyone working against @Kaepernick7 PERIOD. #stoplying,” Diab responded to another story written by Complex.
