Taylor Swift Signs New Record Deal With Universal Music Publishing Group

Singer and songwriter Taylor Swift took to Twitter to announce her new partnership with Universal Music Publishing Group. This is broadening her partnership with Republic Records, which is her current U.S. label partner.

Swift posts, “I’m proud to extend my partnership with Lucian Grainge and the Universal Music family by signing with Universal Music Publishing Group, and for the opportunity to work with Jody Gerson, the first woman to run a major music publishing company.”

Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Publishing Group, Troy Tomlinson commented on this partnership with Swift in a press release, stating, “We are honored to welcome Taylor Swift to UMPG (Universal Music Publishing Group.) Using her power and voice to create a better world, Taylor’s honest and brave songwriting continues to be an inspiration to countless fans. We look forward to further amplifying Taylor’s voice and songs across the globe.”

Though this is a multi-partnership, Billboard revealed that Universal Music Publishing Group plans to represent her entire catalog, which includes seven studio albums.
