Guns N’ Roses Drummer Steven Adler Hospitalized for Stabbing Himself

Former Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler was rushed to the hospital after a possible suicide attempt, according to PEOPLE.

Officer Jeff Lee with the Los Angeles Police Department told the outlet that local authorities responded to a call on Thursday around 6:30 p.m.

When officers arrived at his California home, they discovered that somehow the musician stabbed himself in the stomach. No other parties are believed to be involved in the situation.

“Upon arrival, LAPD officers determined that there was no crime and the incident was being treated as a medical emergency only,” Lee told PEOPLE. “The subject was transported to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.”

Adler has openly struggled with drug addiction for years. He was kicked out of the band in 1990 over his substance abuse, according to Rolling Stone. However, he rejoined the band after signing a contract that he would no longer use drugs.

Unfortunately, he was fired again that same year after his addiction continued.
