“M-A-S-H” Star Kellye Nakahara Wallett Dies At 72

Film and television actress Kellye Nakahara Wallett has died at age 72. She is best known for her character, Lt. Nurse Kellye Yamato on “M-A-S-H.” Wallett’s son William confirmed to The Associated Press that she died Sunday, Feb 16 after her battle with cancer. She died at her home in Pasadena, California.

The iconic sitcom “M-A-S-H” was set during the Korean War and ran from 1972-1983. Wallett plays Nurse Kellye who has a crush on the main character, surgeon Hawkeye Pierce, who was played by Alan Alda.

Wallett also appeared in the film “Clue” and “She’s Having a Baby.”
