Oprah Winfrey said she has no interest in running for president in 2020 because she doesn’t have the “DNA” for it.
“I’ve always felt very secure and confident with myself in knowing what I could do and what I could not,” Winfrey told InStyle magazine. “And so it’s not something that interests me. I don’t have the DNA for it.”
She recalled in the interview published online Thursday how her long-time friend, Gayle King, an anchor at “CBS This Morning,” would text her messages from people encouraging her to run.
Winfrey made headlines at the Golden Globes earlier this month after giving a moving speech addressing the #MeToo movement against sexual harassment.
