New, Non-Opioid Pain Management

Up until now, resources and attention have focused on treating addiction rather than preventing it. But, recent data analyzing the use of investigational agent HTX-011 combined with a scheduled regimen of generic over-the-counter oral analgesics (acetaminophen and ibuprofen) show that in > 90 percent of patients, a single dose of HTX-011 provided sustained pain relief over 72 hours and eliminated the need for opioids.

Dr. Harold Minkowitz, Associate Professor and Associate Director of Clinical Research at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center discusses a potential breakthrough in post-surgery pain management called HTX-011.
