Lionel Richie’s son, Miles Brockman Richie, was reportedly detained by police at Heathrow Airport on Saturday after threatening to detonate a bomb, according to TMZ.
Witnesses told the outlet that Richie was trying to catch his flight in London, but he was not allowed to board for an unknown reason. He became angry and allegedly claimed that he would detonate the bomb in his bag if he was not permitted to get on the plane.
Of course security showed up and Richie allegedly punched one of them. The police detained Richie, and he accepted a caution for communicating false information about a bomb.
“On Saturday, 19 January, a 24-year-old man accepted a caution for communicating false information causing a bomb hoax and battery following an incident at Heathrow Terminal 5 earlier that morning,” the Metropolitan Police told PEOPLE in a statement.
When a caution is issued in the U.K. it is not a criminal conviction, just a warning given out for minor crimes.
