Megyn Kelly claimed on Thursday in an interview with Us Weekly that there is more to the Matt Lauer scandal that we don’t know about.
When asked if she thought that Laurer could make a comeback, Kelly did not give a response to the question but said, “I know too much that others don’t know.”
Kelly’s first year hosting Megyn Kelly Today brought a lot of attention to the #MeToo movement and helped survivors of abuse share their stories. She interviewed one of Laurer’s accusers, Addie Zinone, after news broke in November that Laurer had been terminated.
Zinone was a former production assistant and told Kelly that her encounters with Laurer were a “massive mistake.” She claimed that her sexual encounters with the news anchor lasted for a month and took place in 2000 when she was just 24-years-old. Zinone expressed that she saw Laurer as a man she could get career advice from.
Kelly claims she has not had any communication with Laurer since her interview with his accuser. She wants people to know how strongly she feels about the #MeToo movement.
“… I feel very strongly about the #MeToo coverage, the importance of doing it without fear or favor,” she said. “I didn’t let anyone stop me at Fox, and I’m not going to let anyone stop me at NBC.”
