Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Slammed by Rod Stewart

Rod Stewart thinks that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry should be spending Christmas with the rest of the Royal Family.

The British rocker said he was “disappointed” that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have chosen to forgo the family’s traditional intimate Christmas celebration at Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham estate in order to spend the holiday with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, elsewhere.

“I was a bit disappointed that Harry and Meghan have decided not to spend Christmas with the Queen this year. If I was Harry, I’d think there was plenty of time in the future to have Christmases on my own or with Meghan’s mum,” Rod Stewart told the Daily Mail. “The Queen’s 93. I flew around the world to be with my mum and dad at Christmas because I knew they didn’t have many left.”

Stewart’s criticism comes about a month after the Palace confirmed rumors that Meghan and Harry were planning on celebrating their first Christmas since son Archie Harrison’s birth with Meghan’s side of the family. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking forward to extended family time towards the end of this month,” the statement read. “Having spent the last two Christmases at Sandringham, Their Royal Highnesses will spend the holiday this year, as a new family, with the Duchess’ mother Doria Ragland. This decision is in line with precedent set previously by other members of the Royal Family, and has the support of Her Majesty The Queen.”
