Travel Tips and Top Trending Places to Celebrate Pride

Pride

2019 marks the 50th anniversary of Stonewall, the riots that started the gay pride movement. More than 3 million travelers are expected to attend World Pride in NYC this June, and according to new data from travel site Orbitz, 80% of travelers are planning a trip for Pride this year. To share some of the top trending places for Pride and provide her own travel tips is the popular drag personality of Provincetown, MA: Miss Richfield 1981.

Orbitz was the first online travel company to launch a microsite dedicated to gay and lesbian travel more than a decade ago, and to celebrate this milestone year, they’re reviving some of their best content with their longtime LGBTQ spokesperson, Miss R. Travelers planning a trip to celebrated Pride destinations including Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington D.C., San Francisco and NYC can browse hotels, booking tips and itineraries using the new Orbitz Pride Travel Guide at Orbitz.com/Pride.

The travel site also analyzed booking trends during Pride to determine which celebrations are trending this year. The top Pride destinations in 2019 include major cities such as San Francisco and Miami in addition to some surprising new LGBTQ hot spots like Atlanta, Long Beach, Orlando and Miss R’s hometown: Minneapolis.

Of course, it wouldn’t be an interview with Miss Richfield 1981 without a little fun, too. Watch below!
