Kendall Jenner, the new face of Proactiv, opened up about her struggle with acne in an interview with E! News.
Jenner revealed that she her acne first appeared when she was 14 years-old. Jenner expressed that her sisters helped her when she was struggling with the way her face looked. “I had them sitting crying with me when I would cry about it,” Jenner said.
“Most of my sisters have had really beautiful skin, which is also really hard to look at as a young girl,” the model explained. “When I was super little all I had to look up to was my sisters that were beautiful and had this amazing skin.”
Growing up with sisters who had really beautiful skin made Jenner question, “What is happening to me? Why me? Like all of you are amazing and I have to struggle.”
Jenner explained why she chose to be so open and partner with Proactiv, “It’s not easy to talk about, but I felt like I wanted to for other people. So other people felt like it was okay and that there is a way out of it. Just because I’ve struggled with it personally on such a deep level that I wanted people to feel like oh because she did it its okay and we will figure this out.”
