Jane Fonda Confesses That She Didn’t Think She’d Live to See 80

Jane Fonda confessed to Ellen DeGeneres that she didn’t think she’d live this long. Fonda has been the most active at age 80, than she has ever been before.

“The fact that I’m not an addict, and I’m 80-years-old and I’m working—it’s just a miracle to me,” she explained.

Fonda took a 15 year break from 1990-2005. Since her hiatus, she’s starred in a number of TV shows and films. She’s currently working on the Netflix original series, Grace and Frankie. She’s also in the upcoming movie release, set to hit theaters on  May 18.

Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres on the comedienne’s talk show, Fonda said, “If you had told me when I was 20 or 30 that I would actually still be acting, still active at 80 on a show like this, I would have said, ‘You’re out of your mind. There’s no way.’ No, I didn’t think I’d live this long. Everyday I get up and I want to pinch myself. I feel very blessed, but I’ve worked for it.”
