How Important Is Free Speech to America’s College Age Students?

Our country’s next generation of leaders are in classrooms right now across the country. And, what are they saying about criminal justice reform, ethical leadership, social justice and so many other issues our current leadership tackle every day?

Looking to the future, a record number of students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities will be descending upon Marshall, TX in late January for the first ever HBCU Debate League National Championship Tournament. This historic event brings together hundreds of young minds and leaders in forensics, poetry and the performing arts, to illustrate the critical value of civil discourse at a time when free speech takes center stage in the national debate.

College campuses have become ground zero for the national debate on free speech. By exposing more students to competitive forensics, the HBCU Debate League equips more young people with valuable tools they can utilize in the classroom and beyond the walls of their alma mater.
