Many social media users were excited about Bailey’s new role, but others had nasty things to say about a person of color depicting the beloved Disney princess.

“I feel like I’m dreaming and I’m just grateful and I don’t pay attention to the negativity. I just feel like this role was something bigger than me and greater and it’s going to be beautiful. I’m just so excited to be a part of it,” Bailey told Variety.

There is no official release date for film just yet, but according to Digital Spy, production is rumored to begin in April 2020.
