Fueling the Front Lines: Support People Living in Devastation

As the tornado, wildfire and hurricane seasons ramp up, Team Rubicon CEO and co-founder Jake Wood is joining Jack Link’s Protein Snacks for the second year of “Fueling the Front Lines,” a company-wide initiative dedicated to rebuilding lives and restoring communities affected by natural disasters.

Jack Link’s employees will join Team Rubicon volunteers for a two-week, 1,300-mile journey to bring help and resources to communities from Jack Link’s headquarters in Minong, Wisc. to Houston, which is still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. Along the way, both organizations will participate in service projects taking place in affected areas in need of relief. The journey will culminate on National Jerky Day (June 12) in Houston, where Team Rubicon is piloting a new long-term recovery program to rebuild 100 homes affected by Harvey.

Founded in 2010, Team Rubicon unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams to communities affected by natural disasters. The organization also gives veterans a greater sense of purpose and belonging as they re-adjust to civilian life.
