As the U.S. continues wading into uncharted territory, the obvious question is “what now?” For roughly 38.6 million newly-unemployed Americans, that question carries massive weight. One thing we do know: the world needs leaders. Troy University, one of the nation’s leading online universities, is opening its virtual doors to offer a free, 4-week leadership course this summer.
The Daily Buzz had the opportunity to talk with Dr. Jack Hawkins, Chancellor at Troy University, about the Leadership 101 course. Dr. Hawkins says in the midst of this unprecedented time in American history, TROY wants to prepare tomorrow’s leaders with the skillset they need to navigate the new waters ahead. The free, online course explores personal development, leadership style and action, cultural diversity and current events, all through the lens of effective leadership. The two identical four-week sessions, starting on June 1 and July 1, are open to anyone, and do not require enrollment in TROY to participate.
Students can pick the session that works best for their schedule and study at their own pace. There’s no enrollment cap, no textbooks and the course, exam and all course materials are free.
