The popular television show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, is getting a reboot!
The show aired from 2003 to 2012 on ABC, but is being revived by HGTV. The network is producing 10 new episodes set to debut in 2020, and will air 100 of ABC’s original episodes to get fans excited for the premiere.
HGTV has not announced yet if Ty Pennington will return as host to help deserving families across the U.S. “There’s no word yet on the cast, but you can rest assured that HGTV will be bringing in their own superstar experts to get the job done,” Michelle Regna wrote in HGTV’s announcement.
“This is a big win for HGTV and we can’t wait to put our stamp on it,” Kathleen Finch, Discovery Inc.’s chief lifestyle brands officer, said. “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition was must-see viewing for years because it combined moving stories of families and communities with life-changing home renovations. It’s the type of program that taps into every emotion and it’s the reason it was so popular with everyone in America.”
