Dwayne Johnson deleted a photo of his daughter at the pool after receiving backlash.
Earlier this week, the actor posted a photo to Instagram of himself in the swimming pool about to catch his 3-year-old daughter, Jasmine.
While some social media users thought the post was sweet, others thought it was inappropriate because Jasmine wasn’t wearing a swimsuit.
“As a mother to [a] female human, please cover her nakedness on media platforms,” one user wrote.
Another Instagram user asked, “Why would you expose a young child’s body to millions of people?”
“I love the Rock but this pic isn’t necessary for social media. They made bathing suits for a reason,” someone posted. “I’d never post a pic of my child naked in a pool on social media,” another concerned Instagram user wrote.
This fan defended Johnson, writing, “Those who are sexualizing this picture of his daughter because she is swimming with no clothes on obviously don’t know what it’s like to grow up in the islands or in a Polynesian household. This is very normal and not sexual in any way with our culture.”
