Chip and Joanna Gaines are resurrecting “Fixer Upper” to air on their Magnolia Network next year. The original series, which aired on HGTV, signed off in 2018 after five seasons on the air, leaving their legions of fans with a hole in their hearts.
Chip and Jo made the announcement on Instagram in this video sure to tug at a lot of heartstrings.
In an official statement, the pair said, “These past few years, we’ve continued tackling renovations and projects, doing the work we’re passionate about, but I don’t think either of us anticipated how the show would become such a permanent fixture in our hearts. We’ve missed sharing the stories of these families and their homes with you, and we’re excited to do that again very soon!”
“Fixer Upper” was the #1 unscripted series on cable television with 75 million viewers tuning in for the show’s fifth and final season, including 19.6 million on a weekly basis.
The premiere of the reboot will launch the Gaines’ channel in 2021!
