It’s becoming clear just how big of an impact Chadwick Boseman and his alter-ego King T’Challa had on children.
Following the news of Chadwick’s death, heartbroken kids across the country began paying tribute to their favorite superhero by holding Black Panther and Avengers-themed memorials with their action figures.

The boy pictured in that photo, 7-year-old Kian Westbrook, talked to CNN about what Chadwick meant to him.
“He was a good role model to me and Black boys because he let me know Black boys can be heroes too… When I found out he died, I felt very sad. I was crying and couldn’t stop talking about him.”
Chadwick’s Black Panther co-star, Michael B. Jordan, just posted an emotional tribute to Chadwick on Instagram, saying “I’m dedicating the rest of my days to live the way you did. With grace, courage, and no regrets.”
Chadwick died Friday after a 4-year battle with colon cancer, a battle the public knew nothing about. He was 43.
