Former NBA star and New York Knicks legend Charles Oakley was arrested over the weekend for trying to stiff a Las Vegas Casino.
According to TMZ, the incident occurred on July 8 at the Cosmopolitan. In the incident, according to the Nevada Gaming Board, Oakley “was suspected of adding to or reducing his wage on a gambling game after the outcome was known,” and it was all caught on camera.
Although the details of the game he was playing remain unclear, sources tell the publication that Oakley tried to take back his $100 chip after he realized he was going to lose. ?
As a result, casino security was called, the incident was confirmed through security footage, and the 54-year-old was arrested and booked. ????
Though Oakley believes the incident is “an insignificant matter that will be quickly resolved,” however, TMZ reports that a gambling charge could land him in jail for anywhere between one and six years, if he is convicted.
