Carrie Underwood Appears in First Photo Since Falling

Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood has shared a new photo of her face on Instagram, marking one of the first times she has shown fans a full glimpse of her face since suffering a fall in front of her home in November.

On Wednesday, the superstar shared a black-and-white shot of herself sitting in a recording studio, indicating that she is working on new music and that she is nearly ready to return to the spotlight.

Carrie Underwood’s CALIA by Carrie line shared an image of the singer, and while it’s likely an old photo, Underwood is looking happy.

In November, the singer suffered a fall outside her home that left her with a broken wrist that required surgery. Underwood also injured her face and needed 40+ stitches. Since then, Underwood has not shared a photo of her full face on social media after warning fans that she may look different after her fall.

The photo is likely not a new one, as brands often shoot campaigns months in advance.

After a dangerous fall this past November, Carrie Underwood is slowly making her way back into the spotlight.

The fall caused the country singer to get 40 stitches in her face, in addition to wrist surgery. Earlier this year, she commented that the injury might change her appearance somewhat. “When I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different,” she wrote in a letter to fans in January.

Despite the injury, over the weekend (Feb. 24), Underwood posted meaningful photo on her Instagram raising awareness for The End It Movement, a global push to end modern slavery.

Last month, Underwood posted a photo on Instagram in which she did NOT show her face which was injured recently in a freak accident!

The country singer, 34, shared a picture of herself with fans; she was exercising with her son Isiah, 2, and both were doing squats. “My boys make work outs fun (and a bit less productive, but that’s ok)!” Underwood captioned the shot.

Four months later, it seems Underwood is still not ready to put her face forward as the new photo only shows her working out from behind.

Carrie Underwood suffered an injury to her face that required 40 to 50 stitches after a fall in November, the singer revealed in a year-end message to fans. She also sustained a previously reported broken wrist in the fall, which took place on the steps to her home. She cautioned fans that she may look “a bit different” when they see her again.

And, ominously, Underwood also wrote that there’s part of the story that she hasn’t “been ready to talk about.”

“There is also another part of the story that I haven’t been ready to talk about since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up,” she wrote according to Taste of Country and People, which quoted the fan-club-only letter. “It’s crazy how a freak random accident can change your life.

“In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well. I’ll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told [Underwood’s husband] Mike that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in.
