Actor Bob Saget was asked about the college admissions scandal in a new interview with Fox News, and he made it clear he was standing by his Fuller House co-star.
Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, are accused of paying $500,000 in bribes to get their daughters, 20-year-old Olivia and 21-year-old Bella, admitted to USC as recruits for the crew team, even though neither had ever participated in the sport.
“I love the people I love, and people go through life, and stuff happens,” Saget said. “For a while, I was saying, ‘No comment,’ and now there’s just no point in talking about it because I’ve answered it. What I would say is, I love the people I love, and I have empathy for people that are in my life for 35 years. I don’t cut people out.”
“I’ve never had any friends growing up,” he added. “So, I’m lucky to have any in the first place.”
In April, he was again asked about Loughlin during his appearance on the Today show shortly after she pleaded not guilty to all the charges against her.
“I think I’m underqualified,” Saget said.
When asked if Bob Saget has spoken to Loughlin since the scandal erupted, he joked, “We go by carrier pigeon.”
“But, I will say I love her and I will say no comment,” he continued. “It’s a personal thing because it’s a strange time and what do you say?”
