Today’s connected world can feel more disconnected than ever and Americans are struggling to balance everything, including their “digital lives” and their “real lives.”
In fact, in 2019 the word “techlash” joined our lexicon – as people look for ways to cut back on screen time and re-engage with what’s REAL.
Actress and mom Angela Kinsey tries her best to balance these worlds every day. She’s our favorite office know-it-all and joins us this morning to share how she does it – and why it’s important for her to set a good example for her kids.
The acclaimed actress who gave life to the tightly-wound, strongly opinionated “Angela Martin” may have moved on from the copiers and fax machines of Dunder-Mifflin, but she hasn’t stopped working since the show wrapped.
Managing a career featuring numerous starring credits, an upcoming hosting gig and an active social media presence, Kinsey’s productivity levels would impress even the smug Angela Martin. But how does “Team Angela” get it all done, while still staying in touch with reality?
“Obviously we need our devices and it’s so important to set them aside to be with family,” Angela Kinsey told The Daily Buzz. “So many of us work from our phones and parents need to abide by the rules as well.”
“My biggest ‘tech’ pet peeve, when you are going out to dinner and breaking bread with someone…be present and I hate when you look at a table and everyone is one their phones. I’ve been guilty of that too, but it’s time to connect with one another,” said Kinsey.

I’m at The HP Garage in Palo Alto – the birthplace of Silicon Valley – thinking about how far technology has come over the last 80 years. We all love our smartphones but it’s important to balance our digital and real lives. I’m partnering with @hp to help people stop and think – “have we lost touch with what’s real?”#keepreinventing #getreal #ad
