Amazon Shines a Spotlight on Small Businesses

Amazon

Amazon is highlighting inspiring and unique American small businesses on Amazon with the first-ever Small Business Spotlight Awards.

On average, U.S. based small and medium-sized businesses sell more than 4,000 items per minute in Amazon’s stores. These independent selling partners were behind more than half of everything sold in the company’s online stores last year and they sold more than $2 billion of merchandise during this year’s Prime Day in July.

Amazon is celebrating American small businesses on its site (www.amazon.com/smallbusinessspotlight), and will announce finalists for the first-ever Small Business Spotlight awards; including Small Business of the Year, Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year, and Small Business Owner Under 30 of the Year. The inaugural Small Business Spotlight Awards highlight inspiring and unique American small businesses selling on Amazon.

The company is also hosting Small Business Spotlight events in Nashville, TN, Washington, D.C., and New York City which will give small business merchants the opportunity to interact with customers and sell their products in-person.
